Waverly North will be a mixed-income family community located in Central Austin. Built in 1907 as housing for widows of military Veterans, the original buildings have also served as a residence for Austin State Hospital nurses and as an annex for the State School for the Blind. The two original structures will be preserved and adapted with the addition of one new construction building. The three buildings will provide 76 units of quality, affordable housing for families. Waverly North is in the North University neighborhood and in close proximity to various community amenities including the Triangle, Hemphill Park, Ascension Seton and the Heart Hospital of Austin, I-35, and 15 minutes to downtown.
